Check with your coach and see what you need exactly for the season, and if you're not doing the marching season you may be able to cut it a little and let it grow back.

My sister has the same problem for color guard. Her coach makes the team have extremely long hair otherwise they have to put in temporary extensions.

So, check with your coach and ask them and then ask the team what they think, they should be able to help you a lot.

Do you currently have short hair? if you do have short hair, that should be fine for color guard. if you need long hair for a show, try to find some hair extensions. For medium hair, that's also fine for color guard, but you could probably just clip it back with a few bobby pins. With long hair, you can do just about anything, like a basic ponytail or braids.
